Releasing a new Trappist beer isn't quite as simple as just brewing something new and putting it to market.

To be recognised by the International Trappist Association as an Authentic Trappist Product, it must be on sale for a short period of time before the monastery builds a dossier on the product documenting community involvement, quality assurance, and production methods.

A board member of the ITA then visits the site to ensure quality standards are being met. The results of this visit are then evaluated by the board, and voted upon, before the Authentic Trappist Product label is approved.

A few weeks ago Tynt Meadow received approval from the board for their new Blond.

This classic Trappist Blond Ale uses the exact same ingredients as the classic Tynt Meadow, but in this beer expressing Vanilla, Mandarin, and gentle hints of Orange, and Sherbet.
